How it works

Step 1

Describe the page

What the page covers and what makes it worth clicking — a sentence is enough.

Step 2

Add keyword and brand

The keyword gets front-loaded; the brand gets appended as "| Brand" so the counts stay honest.

Step 3

Get 5 options

Five different patterns — number, how-to, question, benefit, comparison — each checked against the 30–60 character window.

Step 4

Pick and paste

Copy the strongest option into your page's title tag and keep the rest for A/B ideas.

Why it matters

The title tag is the highest-leverage line of text on your page.

It's a confirmed ranking signal, the headline shown in search results, the default social-share text, and the label on the browser tab. One line does four jobs. A title that front-loads the keyword and promises a specific outcome routinely outperforms a vague one in the same position — making it the cheapest CTR upgrade in SEO.

30–60 characters keeps your title from being rewritten.

Search engines truncate titles past roughly 60 characters and increasingly rewrite titles they consider too long, too short, or off-topic — replacing your carefully chosen words with their own guess. Staying inside the 30–60 window with the keyword in the first half is the most reliable way to keep the title you wrote on the results page.

Patterns are a starting grid, not a formula.

Number titles signal scannable structure, how-to titles signal a solution, questions mirror the query, benefit titles sell the outcome, and comparison titles capture evaluators. Different intents respond to different patterns, which is why this tool generates one of each — comparing five framings side by side beats staring at a blank field.

Frequently asked

What is a title tag?

The title tag is the HTML element that defines your page's title. Search engines display it as the clickable headline of your result, browsers show it on the tab, and social platforms use it as the default share text. It's both a ranking signal and the first impression searchers get of your page.

How long should a title tag be?

Aim for 30–60 characters. Titles longer than about 60 characters get truncated in search results, and engines are more likely to rewrite titles that fall far outside the window. Every option this tool generates is checked against that range, with the brand suffix counted when you provide one.

Should the keyword go at the start of the title?

As close to the front as natural phrasing allows. Front-loaded keywords are more visible to scanning searchers, survive truncation, and align the title with the query. Don't force it into awkward phrasing though — engines rewrite titles that read like keyword strings.

Should I put my brand name in the title tag?

Usually yes, appended at the end as " | Brand". It builds recognition across results and engines often add it anyway if you don't. The exception is when the brand suffix pushes an otherwise strong title past 60 characters — then prefer the keyword-bearing half and let the domain carry the branding.

Why do title tags get rewritten by Google?

Google rewrites titles it judges too long, keyword-stuffed, boilerplate, or mismatched with the page content — studies put the rewrite rate at over half of all pages. The best defense is a concise, accurate title within 30–60 characters that genuinely describes the page.
