This Privacy Policy explains how Meev (“Meev,” “we,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, dashboard, and connected integrations (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information:
Account & billing data. Your name, email, password (stored as a one-way hash), workspace name, business country, and the last four digits of the payment card you provide to our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
Service data. Domains you connect, prompts and brand terms you choose to track, knowledge-base entries you upload, articles generated, publishing credentials for third-party platforms (encrypted at rest), and the responses returned by AI engines when we run your tracking prompts.
Usage & device data. IP address, browser type, pages viewed, feature interactions, performance metrics, and error logs. We use this to operate the Service, debug issues, and improve performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) provide and operate the Service, (b) generate, score, and publish content on your behalf, (c) process payments and manage your subscription, (d) communicate about your account, security, and product updates, (e) detect and prevent abuse, and (f) meet legal obligations. We do not use your information for purposes you would not reasonably expect.
3. We Do Not Train AI on Your Data
We do not use your content, prompts, brand terms, knowledge-base entries, or generated outputs to train, fine-tune, or develop any general-purpose, foundation, or large-language model — our own or anyone else's. The AI providers we use are contractually prohibited from training their models on data sent through Meev. Aggregated, de-identified statistics (e.g., total articles generated per day, average response latency) may be used to monitor and improve the Service.
4. We Never Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, content, or usage data to any third party — ever. We do not share data with advertisers and do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on vetted third-party providers to deliver the Service, in the following categories: cloud infrastructure and database hosting, authentication, payment processing, transactional email, AI model providers, search and web-data providers, error monitoring, and product analytics. Each provider receives only the data necessary to perform its function and is bound by a data-processing agreement that restricts further use. We never share publishing credentials or merchant data with any provider beyond what is required to operate the Service.
6. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on cloud infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance. Publishing credentials and API tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256. Connections to the Service are encrypted in transit via TLS 1.2 or higher. Access to production data is limited to authorized engineering personnel and audited. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs we will notify affected users within the timelines required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Active accounts: for the duration of the account, plus any legally required period
- Deleted accounts: 30 days for recovery, then permanently deleted
- Billing and tax records: 7 years (legal requirement)
- Support correspondence: 3 years from last contact
- Application and audit logs: 90 days
- Generated images: 30 days from publication, then removed from our object storage
8. Your Content
You own the articles, images, and outputs generated through your Meev account. We retain the article text in our database so it remains visible in your dashboard, analytics, and version history. Deleting an article from your dashboard removes it from our database within 30 days.
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to operate the Service: session cookies for authentication, preference cookies (e.g., theme), and security cookies for fraud prevention. We do not use advertising cookies, do not track you across other sites, and do not sell cookie data.
10. Shopify Merchant Data
If you install Meev via the Shopify App Store, we receive your store URL, store ID, and the email address of the installing user. We use this data only to provision your account and link it to the store. Meev does not access customer orders, shopper personal information, payment data, or any other Shopify customer data unless you explicitly authorize additional scopes for a feature that requires them. Uninstalling Meev from your Shopify admin will, within 30 days, delete your Shopify-linked account and the data described above unless retention is required by law.
11. International Data Transfers
Meev is operated from the United States and our infrastructure providers may store data in the US, EU, or other regions depending on your location. Where personal data is transferred from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to the United States, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved safeguards.
12. Your Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Access & portability: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion: request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
Restriction & objection: ask us to restrict or stop certain processing.
Opt-out of “sale” or “sharing”: California residents may opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. Meev does not engage in either.
Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@meev.ai. We respond within 30 days (GDPR/UK GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
13. Data Deletion
You can delete your account from Settings → Billing or by emailing support@meev.ai. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., billing records).
14. Children's Privacy
Meev is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our Service evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent change. For material changes we will notify you by email before the change takes effect.
